Filming for the short film:
Location: Southend
All the twins I shall be using live in and around Southend therefore my filming will take place in Southend. I aim to set up a few shoots so I can have different backgrounds throughout the film, this will make it more interesting. I need to consider mise en scène, including setting, props, costume, makeup, lighting and figure/performance whilst filming.
LOCATION SHOTS:
Bishopsteighton (walking shots)
Thorpe Bay Seafront
The Local Park
Music is a common technique used in short films. The music almost always relates in some way to how the film is being portrayed. I would say it is one of the most important parts choosing what music suits your film, as this is one of the first things that the audience shall hear, giving them their first impressions of the film. Not only this, but a catchy song that might stick in their head might also leave them with a positive memory of my film.
Having watched this short film, (although it has nothing to with my type of genre of film) it is very useful to how they have considered the pace, editing and use of music. The music and pace is very fast therefore they have used so many different shots in a short time of space.
Having listened to this a few times, it is really catchy. It could be suitable for my short film.
THE XX- HEART SKIPPED A BEAT.
THE NAKED AND FAMOUS- YOUNG BLOOD
Listening to the beginning and the ending of this song, I think this may be the one. The Beginning of the song would be perfect for the panning shots I am thinking of having.
I aim to have a well-recorded voiceover and sound effects (if necessary). This soundtrack will create the mood and controls the changes of mood and pace throughout. The camera angles I aim to have backed by the soundtrack will use a fair range of well-framed shot distances and angles. Camera only unsteady where needed for narrative purposes. This is will be controlled and effective.
